For something different, a little artwork from the boy and the lass.
After the jump.
First up, the lass:
When I first saw it, I asked if her brother had helped her. “No,” she replied.
“Well, how did you know how to spell ‘train’ and ‘trip’?” I wondered.
“Oh, I got those from a book.”
Impressive for a kindergartner.
The stout looking fellow on the right is her Uncle. She didn’t know who the other guy was, so we’ll just call him some poor schleb about to be splatted by her Uncle. The goal posts are a little off, and the score is 7 to 12. A little unconventional (but possible!) Guess she enjoyed the trip earlier this Fall.
Next up, the boy:
Here we have the drawing the sparked the rapid decline of the boy’s Monday. The smudged coloring due to the lass bumping him isn’t even visible anymore, but it was on the dragon’s neck. He wanted the head and neck to be a different color from the body. The smudge was the same color as the body and that was the reason for the brouhaha. As I’m sure you can see now, it was totally justified because the smudge is such a blight on the overall picture…
I was rudely reminded of just how much a non-connoisseur I am of such drawings anymore when one of the boy’s friends spotted it during a visit. The friend first confirmed that the boy had, in fact, drawn it himself. With just a little tinge of disbelief in his voice. When I confirmed that it was the boy’s work, his friend stately simply “He’s GOOD.”
So there you have it.

Nothing better than creative children with rich imaginations and a healthy dose of resourcefulness when they need to get the job done ! ! 🙂
