Well, Bones, NCIS, Criminal Minds and CSI: NY were all pretty good for their season openers.
If you haven’t seen them yet, then stop reading, NOW.
NCIS in particular was VERY good. Which is kind of remarkable since it was basically a “Meet the Team” kind of show narrated by the indisputably most annoying character, Dinozzo. Of course, having Gibbs kill the bad guy with a headshot from approximately a mile-and-a-half away is a good way to end the show.
Bones was also good- luckily they ditched the obivous plot line setup by last season’s finale. Hopefully the don’t turn Booth’s character into comic relief.
As for this year’s CSI premiere, I’d just like to ask how dumb are they? They write Grissom out of the show last year and now they decide to bring back Sarah? I mean, why not just have Jar-Jar Binks join the cast? At least he had the potential for some humor somewhere as opposed to all-annoying-all-the-time Sarah. The previews at least make it look like it will be worth watching but then previews are a magic all their own, usually having little to do with how good the show will actually be.
Then there’s the Mentalist. The show is preposterous if you give a moment’s thought. Yet, somehow, Simon Baker made it watchable last year. I guess we’ll see if he can do it again this year.
