A tough time for giants of the computer industry.
Dennis Ritchie was a co-creator of the C language, easily the longest lived (outside of assembly) and most prevalent programming language around. He’s also co-author of the best intro book to a programming language, simply titled *The C Programming Language”.

Given his accomplishments, the incredible notoriety that it brought, and the celebrity he obviously enjoyed, it is no wonder he lived such a fast-paced and wild life, it is a shame that it caught up with him at such a young age, 70.
Hopefully the generation that he taught will learn from not only his computing lessons, but also his lifestyle lessons.
