{"id":398,"date":"2009-09-22T10:55:32","date_gmt":"2009-09-22T14:55:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sahd.lamafam.org\/?p=398"},"modified":"2009-09-22T10:55:32","modified_gmt":"2009-09-22T14:55:32","slug":"syndaemon-with-eee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sahd.lamafam.org\/?p=398","title":{"rendered":"Syndaemon with EEE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During my quest to get HAL working to configure the touchpad on my EEE, I also discovered that I don&#8217;t need Touchfreeze to disable unwanted touches on my touchpad. \u00a0All I need is syndaemon. \u00a0Of course, in order to use syndaemon you need the synaptics driver running, so my efforts were not wasted.<\/p>\n<p>The command I settled on for syndaemon was as follows:<\/p>\n<pre>syndaemon -i 1.5 -t<\/pre>\n<p>That&#8217;s the command line version. \u00a0Of course, what&#8217;s more useful is having it taken care of automatically. \u00a0I placed it in my .xsession file with the -d option added to make sure it ran as a daemon. \u00a0Now it fires up whenever I startup X.<\/p>\n<p>Also, either SHMConfig is enabled by default in the newer version of the synaptics driver, or it is no longer necessary. \u00a0 I removed the option from my fdi file and syndaemon works just fine. \u00a0No more touches while typing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During my quest to get HAL working to configure the touchpad on my EEE, I also discovered that I don&#8217;t need Touchfreeze to disable unwanted touches on my touchpad. \u00a0All I need is syndaemon. \u00a0Of course, in order to use syndaemon you need the synaptics driver running, so my efforts were not wasted.
